(Heb. Tikvah', úַּ÷ְåָä , a cord [as in Jos_2:18; Jos_2:21], or hope [as often]), the name of two Israelites.

1. (Sept. èåêêïõÝ v.r. èåêïõÜí ; Vulg. Thecua.) The son of Harhas and father of Shallum, which last was the husband of the prophetess Huldah (2Ki_22:14). B.C. ante 632. He is elsewhere (2Ch_34:22) called TIKVATH SEE TIKVATH (q.v.).

2. (Sept. èåêïõÝ v.r. èÝêùÝ ; Vulg. Thecue.) The father of Jahaziah, which latter was one of the “rulers” appointed to carry out the divorce of the Gentile wives after the Captivity (Ezr_10:15). B.C. 458.
