(prop. îַùְׁîָø or îַùְׁîֶøֶú , öõëáêή ; occasionally ñåּâִø [Eze_19:9], or ôְּ÷ֻãָä [Eze_9:1; Eze_9:11], custody ["oversight," etc.]), a prison (q.v.) or an apartment thereof (Gen_40:3; Act_12:10); also a watch-post at the gates of the Temple (Neh_12:25; 1Ch_9:23). This term is likewise used to designate a class or detachment of priests or Levites (1Ch_25:8; Neh_12:24; Neh_13:30).
