(Heb. Tsippor', öַôּåֹø [briefly öַôֹּø , Num_22:10; Num_23:18], sparrow [comp. Zipporah]; Sept. Óåðöώñ ; Vulg. Sephor), father of Balak, king of Moab, who is always designated by this patronymic title (22, 2, 4, 10, 16; 23:18; Jos_24:9 Jdg_11:25). B.C. ante 1618.
