is put by our translators (Isa_5:10) for öֶîֶã , tse' med, which properly means a yoke, i.e. as much land as a yoke of oxen can plough in a day. So the Latin jugerum, an acre, from jugum, a yoke. SEE MEASURE. In 1Sa_14:14, the word “acre” is supplied in our translation after îִòֲðָä , a furrow, which is omitted (see margin).
