a French priest and writer, born 1698, entered early into the congregation of St. Genevieve, at Paris, and became eminent for his historical and ecclesiastical knowledge. He was made chancellor of the University of Paris, where he died, 1764. His principal works are Vindiciae Librorum deut. — canon. Vet. Test.
