1. An Israelite, several of whose descendants on returning from Babylon, married heathen women (1Es_9:31); for which the parallel text (Ezr_10:30) has more correctly PAHATH-MOAB SEE PAHATH- MOAB (q.v.).

2. The son of Cosam and father of Melchi (i.e. probably Maaseiah, 2Ch_34:8) in the maternal ancestry of Christ (Luk_3:28). B.C. ante 623.
