HEM OF GARMENT.—This is the Authorized Version translation of êñÜóðåäïí in Mat_9:20; Mat_14:36 (of touching the hem of Jesus’ garment with a view to healing). In these places, as on its occurrence elsewhere (Mat_23:5, Mar_6:56, Luk_8:44), Revised Version NT 1881, OT 1885 adopts the rendering ‘horder.’ See art. Border.
