5–9. ‘Instead of seeking a proof of the Christ that speaketh in me (2Co 13:3), it is your own selves that you ought to be testing and proving, to see whether you are in the faith and Christ is in you. I shall be able to stand the test; but I pray that I may not have to prove that Christ is in me to exercise severity.’
