13. καὶ ἐπιστάς, and standing by me. The Apostle in his blindness was seated, no doubt, and the messenger came and stood over him.
ἀνάβλεψον … ἀνέβλεψα εἰς αὐτόν, receive thy sight … I looked up upon him. For the two renderings of the verb, cf. Luk 19:5, where ἀναβλέψας is used of Jesus looking up at Zacchæus in the sycamore tree, with Joh 9:11, where ἀνέβλεψα is said by the blind man who describes how he received his sight.
