This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
17. συνελθόντων οὖν αὐτῶν ἐνθάδε, therefore when they were come together here, i.e. the accusers from Jerusalem and the accused who was in custody. Then they were κατὰ πρόσωπον, as the Roman law required.
