This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
17. οὐκ ἔχω ἄνδ. Her volubility is checked: in the fewest possible words she tries to stop a dangerous subject at once.

καλῶς. There is perhaps a touch of irony, as in Mat 15:7; 2Co 11:4. Comp. Joh 8:48; Luk 20:39.
