This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
15. κατὰ τ. σάρκα. According to His humanity, the form of a servant: comp. Joh 7:24; Joh 6:63. Treating Him as a mere man they had condemned His witness concerning Himself as invalid. Κρίνω acquires an adverse sense from the context: comp. Joh 3:17-18, Joh 7:51.

οὐ κρ. οὐδένα. Neither κατὰ τ. σάρκα nor anything else is to be supplied. No such addition can be made in Joh 8:16, and therefore cannot be made here. The words are best taken quite literally. ‘My mission is not to condemn, but to save and bless.’ Comp. Joh 12:47; Joh 3:17.
