This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
47. ἠγαλλίασεν. ‘exults’. In the original it is the general or gnomic aorist.

ἐπὶ τῷ θεῷ τῷ σωτῆρί μου. Isa 45:21, “a just God and a Saviour.” Comp. Isa 12:2; Isa 25:9. The expression is also found in the later Epistles of St Paul; “God our Saviour,” 1Ti 1:1; Tit 3:4.
