This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
14. ἀνεκτότερον … ἐν τῇ κρίσει. A very important verse as proving the ‘intermediate state’ (Hades) of human souls. The guilty inhabitants of these cities had received their temporal punishment (Gen 19:24-25); but the final judgment was yet to come.
