35. ἔστωσαν ὑμῶν αἱ ὀσφύες περιεζωσμέναι. Without a girdle active service is impossible in the loose flowing dress of the East (Exo 12:11; 1Ki 18:46); and spiritually, for the Christian amid worldly entanglements, 1Pe 1:13; Eph 6:14.
