This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

35. ὡς παγίς. Ecc 9:12; Rom 11:9; 1Ti 3:7. There is the same metaphor in Isa 24:17. The common metaphor is “as a thief,” 1Th 5:2; Rev 3:3; Rev 16:15.

ἐπεισελεύσεται. This classical double compound (BDL) is found here only in the N.T.

τοὺς καθημένους. A Hebraism (Gen 19:30, &c.), but perhaps with the collateral notion of ‘sitting at ease,’ Jer 8:14; Jer 25:19 (LXX[370]). ‘Face of the earth,’ 2Sa 18:8.
