10. εὐτόνως κατηγοροῦντες. Comp. Act 18:28. They were now bent on securing their purpose, and perhaps feared that Herod’s well-known weakness and superstition might rob them of their prey;—especially as he was much less afraid of them than Pilate was, having strong influence in Rome.
