This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
23. οἳ λέγουσιν. ‘Which say’ (not ‘said’ as in A. V[418]). This mention of a sort of double hearsay (‘women saying—of angels who say’) shews the extreme hesitation which appears throughout the narrative.
