45. διήνοιξεν. Spiritual things can only be spiritually discerned, 1Co 2:10-13. On this most important truth see Mat 11:27; Mat 13:11; Mat 16:17; Joh 16:13; Act 16:14. “Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law,” Psa 119:18.

τοῦ συνιέναι τὰς γραφάς. Hence the power with which they—till this time so dull and slow of heart—henceforth explained them, Act 1:16; Act 1:20; Act 2:16; Act 2:25, &c.
