This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
7. ἀνέβησαν αἱ ἄκανθαι. The thorns were as yet hardly above the surface; but they were more vigorous.

συνέπνιξαν. Vulg. suffocaverunt; Wic. “strangliden.” The συν-expresses intensity; see on Mar 3:5. Mt. and Lk. have ἀπέπνιξαν, “choked off.”

καὶ καρπὸν οὐκ ἔδωκεν. Hardly necessary after συνέπνιξαν, and omitted by Mt. and Lk. See on καὶ τότε, Mar 3:27.
