The first couplet (ἄρθησεται … καρποὺς αὐτῆς) expresses loss, the second (καὶ ὁ πεσὼν … λικμήσει αὐτόν) infliction of pain: in the first the sense of loss is enhanced by the sight of the possession passing to another, in the second pain is succeeded by utter destruction.
