This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
5. οἱ πενθοῦντες. Those who mourn for sin are primarily intended, but the secondary meaning of ‘all who are sorrowful’ is not excluded. Sorrow is in itself neutral, cp. 2Co 7:9, νῦν χαίρω οὐχ ὅτι ἐλυπήθητε ἀλλʼ ὅτι ἐλυπήθητε εἰς μετάνοιαν.

παρακληθήσονται. The supreme παράκλησις is Christ.
