This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
4. ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ for ἀπὸ τ. ὀφθ. ἀπὸ denoting removal from the surface, perhaps introduced from a note to mark and heighten the contrast. But the evidence for ἐκ is not decisive.
