19. ἀγαπητοί. N. the appeal to the treatment which they have received from GOD, as enforcing this most difficult act of self-denial.
δότε τόπον. The aor. marks the instantaneous and final character of the act. τόπον, ‘room’ or ‘opportunity’; cf. Eph 4:26; Heb 8:7; Heb 12:17; Act 25:16.
τῇ ὀργῇ. The wrath of GOD; as Rom 5:9; 1Th 2:16; cf. 1Pe 4:19.
