2So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image.
Rev_16:2 This first bowl is very much like one of the Egyptian plagues (cf. Exo_9:10-11). Some see this as related to Deu_28:35, which is in the cursing and blessing section of Moses' covenant renewal. It is to be noted that, like the Egyptian plagues, these plagues affected unbelievers.
