kē´sil, kes´il (כּסיל, keṣı̄l; A, ΧασειÌÏ, ChaseıÌr): A town in the extreme South of Judah named with Eltolad, Hormah and Ziklag (). The name does not occur again. In it is replaced by Bethul (Septuagint ΒαιθηÌλ, BaitheÌ„Ìl), and in by Bethuel. “Chesil†may have arisen from a misreading of the text.
