gā´ash (גּעש×, ga‛ash): First mentioned in connection with the burial place of Joshua “in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-serah, which is in the hill-country of Ephraim, on the north (side) of the mountain of Gaash†(; compare ); see TIMNATH-HERES. The “brooks,†or rather the wadies or “watercourses†of Gaash are mentioned as the native place of Hiddai (), or Hurai (), one of David's heroes. No likely identification has been suggested.
