gā´ash (גּעשׁ, ga‛ash): First mentioned in connection with the burial place of Joshua “in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-serah, which is in the hill-country of Ephraim, on the north (side) of the mountain of Gaash” (; compare ); see TIMNATH-HERES. The “brooks,” or rather the wadies or “watercourses” of Gaash are mentioned as the native place of Hiddai (), or Hurai (), one of David's heroes. No likely identification has been suggested.
