al´ē̇-meth (עלּמת, ‛allemeth, “concealmentâ€; the King James Version Alemeth, ): Name of a town in tribe of Benjamin, near Anathoth, one of the cities given to the sons of Aaron, the same as Almon of . The the King James Version ALEMETH (which see) is based upon the Hebrew reading עלּמת, ‛aÌ„lemethÌŒ. Its site is the modern Almit, a village a short distance Northeast of Anathoth.
