The verb “handle†represents several Hebrew ('aÌ„hÌ£az, maÌ„shakh, taÌ„phas, etc.) and Greek (θιγγαÌνω, thiggaÌnoÌ„, ; ψηλαφαÌω, pseÌ„laphaÌoÌ„, ; ) words in the King James Version, but is also sometimes substituted in the Revised Version (British and American) for other renderings in the King James Version, as in for “holdâ€; in , “handled shamefully,†for “entreated shamefullyâ€; in , “handling aright,†for “rightly dividing,†etc.
