hı̄t, The English terms represent a large number of Hebrew words (goÌ„bhah, maÌ„roÌ„m, kÌ£oÌ„maÌ„h, ruÌ„m, etc.). A chief thing to notice is that in the Revised Version (British and American) “height†and “heights†are frequently substituted for other words in the King James Version, as “coast†(), “region†(), “borders†(), “countries†(), “strength†(), “high places†(; , ; ; ; ), “high palaces†(). On the other hand, for “height†in the King James Version, the Revised Version (British and American) has “stature†(, ), “raised basement†(), etc. In the New Testament we have huÌpsoÌ„ma, prop. of space (), and huÌpsos of measure (; ).
