ked´eÌ„Ì-moth, keÌ„Ì-dē´moth (קדמות, kÌ£edheÌ„moÌ„th, “eastern partsâ€): From the wilderness to which this town gave its name, Moses sent messengers to Sihon, king of the Amorites in Heshbon (). It was given by Moses to the tribe of Reuben (), and assigned to the Merarite Levites (; ). It must probably be sought on the upper course of the Arnon. Buhl (GAP, 268) suggests that it may be identified with Umm er-ResÌ£aÌ„sÌ£. See JAHAZ.
