mef´aÌ„Ì-ath, meÌ„Ì-fā´ath (מפעת, meÌ„pha‛ath and מיפעת, meÌ„ypha‛ath, מופעת, moÌ„pha‛ath; Codex Vaticanus, ΜαιφαÌαθ, MaiphaÌath, ΜηφαÌαθ, MeÌ„phaÌath): A city of the Amorites in the territory allotted to Reuben, named with Kedemoth and Kiriathaim (), and given to the Merarite Levites (; ). It appears again as a Moabite town in . It was known to Eusebius and Jerome (Onom) as occupied by a Roman garrison, but the site has been lost.
