nē´bat (× ×‘×˜, nebhaÌ„tÌ£): Father of Jeroboam I (, and frequently elsewhere). The name occurs only in the phrase “Jeroboam the son of Nebat,†and is evidently intended to distinguish Jeroboam I from the later son of Joash. See JEROBOAM.
