nē´keb: This name occurs only in combination with “Adami†(×”× Ö¼×§×‘ ×דמי, 'ădhaÌ„mı̄ ha-nekÌ£ebh, “Adami of the passâ€); Septuagint reads the names of two places: ÎºÎ±Î¹Ì Î‘Ì“Ïμὲ καὶ ÎαÌβωκ, kaÄ±Ì ArmeÌ kaÄ±Ì NaÌboÌ„k (B); καὶ ἈÏμαὶ καὶ ÎαÌκεβ, kaÄ±Ì ArmaÄ±Ì kaÄ±Ì NaÌkeb (), so we should possibly read “Adami and Nekeb.†Neubauer says (Geog. du Talmud, 225) that later the name of Nekeb was Ciyadathah. It may therefore be represented by the modern SeiyaÌ„deh, not far from ed-DaÌ„mieh to the East of Tabor, about 4 miles Southwest of Tiberias. The name of Nekeb, a town in Galilee, appears in the list of Thothmes III.
