the LORD spake. Jehovah spake at nine "sundry times" and in three "divers manners":
1. To me (Moses), Deu_2:1, Deu_2:2, Deu_2:17; Deu_9:13; Deu_32:48.
2. To you, Deu_4:12, Deu_4:15; Deu_10:4.
3. To all your assembly, Deu_5:22.
spake = said, as in Deu_1:42. Compare Num_21:4.
many days. These are distinguished from those mentioned in Deu_1:46. Those were resting in disobedience, these were journeying in obedience.
