seven . . . eight. An idiomatic phrase denoting several or many, like the idiom "once . . . twice" = several times (Job_33:14. Psa_62:11); "twice. . . thrice" = often (Job_33:29. Isa_17:6); "three and four" = frequently, or many (Exo_20:5; Exo_34:7. Pro_30:15, Pro_30:18, Pro_30:21. Amo_1:3, Amo_1:6, Amo_1:9, Amo_1:11, Amo_1:13; Amo_2:1, Amo_2:4, Amo_2:6); "four and five" (Isa_17:6); "six and seven" = many (Job_5:19); "seven and eight" (Mic_5:5).
