keep him alive = revive, so as to live again; hence, to give life to: here, in resurrection. Hebrew. Piel conjugation, to give life, quicken. Compare Psa_119:25, Psa_119:37, &c. Deu_32:39. Job_33:4. Hence, to preserve seed (Gen_19:32, Gen_19:34); to repair, in the sense of restoring what was lost (1Ch_11:8, Neh_4:2. Hos_6:2; Hos_14:7. Hos_85:6).
